The Red Pill, much like the Matrix movie, was intended to enable a valid and truthful view of reality and expose disinformation. The perceived threat of real documented evidence was too much of a challenge to official mind-think and the banking and Internet actions against “The Red Pill” nearly drove SohoStar into bankruptcy.
Throughout the development of this project, there was a strong need to protect people from cyber attacks, fake domains, phishing and intentional disinformation.
What came from this are 3 tools that are available on every SohoStar product: CidrPress, WhereIsFido, and VoirDire. Visit http://theredpill.us for more information.
CidrPress
CidrPress uses cyber incidents and hacking events to determine malicious agents. These can be identified by IP addresses, which we research to determine the country of origin, who has control over groups of addresses, and what companies or institutions are involved. We combine the “WHO” with the “WHAT” – history from millions of incidents over more than 10 years. This information produces a threat score and within a second, enables SohoStar products to defend themselves, most often blocking access. SohoStar currently reports on more than 70,000 malicious blocks of addresses.
WhereIsFido
WhereIsFido is a Domain Name registry which uses owner provided data to ensure that IP addresses are accurate. WhereIsFido verifies Internet DNS services against prior history to ensure that cyber hacking, such as DNS cache poisoning (intentional misdirection) isn’t effective.
Years back, some ISPs began redirecting traffic from popular sites to their own servers where the remote sites had been cached (copied). The problem with this is that the user had no idea that the page they think they received is not the original information. This has been used to reduce service network demand, but also to modify “reality”, blocking access to certain news.
SohoStar experienced exactly this tactic at the launch of “The Red Pill” product though cache poisoning, redirection to broken links, or offering blank pages.
SohoStar takes it one more step, by looking up the IP address found by WhereIsFido, and accessing the CidrPress Threat score. ALL SohoStar Queb products can determine what country or prior threat is associated to the “Domain” so that the Queb can take defensive action – stopping phishing and misdirection.
VoirDire
VoirDire is a new service for SohoStar, and you’ll just have to wait to find out what it does.
